  1. Does walking in a beautiful inner city park count for the Centennial Birthday?

One section of Confederation Park is maintained by volunteers.

I have been watching a bench there that is dedicated to the memory of a loved one. There are tiny white stones beneath it, a new tree planted beside the bench, and today there are some beautiful rocks cemented around the tree and rising upward, circling about two feet high around the tree.

So I slowed down on my walk to read in whose name this bench is dedicated. Isaac ... and I don't remember his last name, who lived well into his eighties. And then underneath his name is this quote from Henry David Thoreau:

"If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away."

I love the food for thought that walking in a park can bring.

  2. That is a beautiful quote Arta and someday I want my name on a bench in a park with a tree and flowers nearby. Let me know if you would like the same. Thanks for reading!
